Recovery Act Limited Competition: NIH Challenge Grants in Health and Science Research (RC1)
I've been very slow posting the last week or two, mainly because I'm working on a couple NIH Challenge Grants in Health and Science Research (RC1) proposals. So I'll try to get a couple things up here in the next week or two based on some of the interesting reading I've been doing, but for now go check out the NIH call - lots of great opportunities there and important problems to solve.

Journal/Author Name Estimator
I haven't used this yet, but one of the graduate students I work with passed this along. If it really works, I think this is going to be a REALLY useful tool - the Journal/Author Name Estimator (JANE). The JANE website says:
Have you recently written a paper, but you're not sure to which journal you should submit it? Or maybe you want to find relevant articles to cite in your paper? Or are you an editor, and do you need to find reviewers for a particular paper? Jane can help!I know it can sometimes be an adventure to find the right outlet for certain articles, so I'm hoping that this will help with those kinds of situations. Enjoy!
Just enter the title and/or abstract of the paper in the box, and click on 'Find journals', 'Find authors' or 'Find Articles'. Jane will then compare your document to millions of documents in Medline to find the best matching journals, authors or articles.

Health Literacy Out Loud
For those out there with interests in health literacy, I just wanted to point you to Health Literacy Out Loud (HLOL) if you haven't already run across it. Helen Osborne has been doing a really nice job interviewing different researchers and practitioners with interests in health literacy, so this is definitely a podcast worth subscribing to.
