Two things this morning...The first is this article from AdAge discussing the new campaign from Burt's Bees. The ads make a point of the natural ingredients in Burt's, versus the less-than-natural ingredients in some competing brands. I don't know how successful this will be, but I can definitely see some pretty strong consumer insights driving this. Neat campaign, interesting article.
As my Friday newsletters pour in, I thought these two articles were particularly interesting:
- Hand Gel Not Linked to Improved Infection Rates: A new study has found that while adding alcohol-based hand gels does improve hand hygiene, that apparently doesn't translate to lower incidence of device-based infections.
- Cost of Diabetes: The American Diabetes Association recently released a report that the cost of diabetes in the U.S. was $174 billion in 2007. The full report from the ADA is available here.
